For one of our first stories for “The Restorers” series, we went to Stockton, CA to film with a group of folks at Vintage Aircraft who were putting on Bomber Crew Fantasy Camp, in collaboration with the Collings Foundation and their B-24 “Witchcraft”. For this story we followed the events of the camp all the way until they dropped concrete bombs in the dessert. This was the first time they hit their target!

With our stories that we do for the show, we like to pair interviews of the people who actually lived that particular part of history. So for this one, we wanted to get a B-24 crew member to tell us about his experiences with the plane during WWII. We found a B-24 Co-Pilot to sit down and chat with us by the name of Ralph Lynn. He volunteers his time at the MAPS Air Museum in North Canton, OH, so the Museum was gracious enough to allow us to film our interview at their facility, where some of Ralph’s flight gear is on display. We are grateful to Ralph for taking the time to tell us his amazing stories and for putting up with us asking lots of questions.
This clip is one of the many great stories Ralph shared about his time flying with the Army Air Corps over Europe. A lot of our interview material will not make it into the show due to time constraints. So we will be making web videos of some of the short stories that we hear to share with everyone. Since that is the whole goal of the show, to teach and share the history!
