A little over a week ago, WarbirdsNews brought you the news about a documentary film called Gaining Altitude: A Mosquito Reborn. The film will cover the magnificent restoration to airworthy condition of Bob Jens deHavilland Mosquito B.35 VR796 by Victoria Air Maintenance in British Columbia, Canada. Most of the filming is already complete, and they’ve just finished interviewing four original Mosquito pilots, whose stories will be in the documentary.

However, as the last article mentioned, the documentary team could use our help to fund the last bit of editing. The filmmakers are currently in the midst of a Kickstarter campaign to raise the capital they need to get the job done, and have released a clip from the film, exclusively to WarbirdsNews, which will hopefully show how well things are coming along. The film clip below is a small part from the efforts to get VR796’s engines started for the very first time at Victoria Air Maintenance.

We hope you have enjoyed seeing the clip, and that some of you might want to contribute to the Gaining Altitude’s Kickstarter campaign so we can all see the completed film, which is bound to be of a very strong professional nature. The Kickstarter campaign is in its final days, so be sure to visit the site HERE to check it out do your bit.

The documentary film’s official website is here www.gainingaltitudedocumentary.com, or you can follow them on Facebook HERE, and on Twitter by looking for Mossiedoc.
